Golden Triangle Running and Cycling Club Minutes
November 2009
Member's Present: Dave Peebles, Peter and Jen Rabideau, Tom Kennedy, Don and Andrea Zant, OK and Tallulah Bryant, Bonnie
Partridge, Johnny Peters, and Betty Gill.
The November meeting was held Nov 3, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. at Tampico Bay in Columbus. Dave Peebles, President, opened the meeting
and announced upcoming races. The Vardman Sweet Potato Festival is Nov 7 and the Turkey Trot is Nov 21 at the Riverwalk. Dave
asked for volunteers to help with the Turkey Trot. The Christmas party will be Dec 1 at 6:30 p.m. at Lake Lowndes. The club will
provide the meat and members can check the website and e-mail Cyrena with what you would like to bring. There was a discussion
about moving the Christmas party to the weekend and it was decided to consider that for next year.
Bonnie Partridge and several from Columbus ran the New York City marathon last week and Bonnie discussed some of the highlights of
the race. Johnny Peters also ran the marathon and both agreed that it is a great race and encouraged runners to try it! There were
several other runners from Columbus and more than 45 from Mississippi. Johnny will write an article for the GTRCC newsletter.
Nomination of officers: Dave nominated the current VP, secretary and treasurer to continue and they accepted. Members will vote at
the December meeting, but we still need nominations for president and Grand Prix chairman. If anyone is willing to take those offices
or knows of someone, please let Dave know. There's a possibilty of splitting some of the duties.
The December meeting will be the Christmas party on Dec 1.
