Golden Triangle Running & Cycling Club Minutes

The May meeting was held at 6:30 p.m., May 6, 2008, at Little Dooey’s in Starkville.

Present: Dave and Carol Peebles, Tom Kennedy, Peter and Jennifer Rabideau, O.K. and Tallulah Bryant, Judy Coleman, Marie Portera, Liz Watkins, Allison Flaherty, Coach Al Schmidt, Simone Domingue, Annie Falor, and Betty Gill

Guest Speaker:

Peter Rabideau introduced the guest speaker, Coach Al Schmidt of MSU, who gave an interesting and informative talk on the physiology of running. He stressed the importance of training and also answered questions from members.

Discussion:

Dave Peebles reminded members of the upcoming Gum Tree 10K on May 10 and the Run with the King in June. The Grand Prix calendar was discussed, and Jennifer Rabideau gave an update on the Johnny Cash race in October.

The next meeting will be June 3 at Proffitt’s Porch in Columbus, and a tentative date of July 12 was set for our annual picnic at Lake Lowndes. The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
