Golden Triangle Running & Cycling Club Minutes

June 2008

The June meeting was held at 6:30 p.m., June 3, 2008, at Proffitt’s Porch in Columbus.

Present: Dave Peebles, Tom Kennedy, Peter and Jennifer Rabideau, O.K. and Tallulah Bryant, Judy Coleman, Betty Gill, Ralph and Carole Stewart, M.P. Biddy, David Palmer, Johnny Peters, Lisa Landrum, and Bonnie Partridge.

Discussion:

Dave Peebles handed out club brochures and 5K and marathon booklets. He also had registration forms for the Run for Life 5K at Lake Lowndes on June 14. He said there would also be a training run on June 14 if anyone’s interested. The Grand Prix calendar was discussed with the next race being the Run with the King on June 7. The Run for Education and Johnny Cash 5K will be in October. Lisa Landrum discussed the long bike ride scheduled for October 11. Locations were suggested, including Rocky Springs to Natchez or possibly another starting in Anniston, AL. Lisa will research and final details will be determined later. Jennifer Rabideau reported a lot of progress on the Johnny Cash race. OK said he could help measure the route. Volunteers will be needed to help out on race day also.

Tallulah will post details on the website for the July 12 picnic, and members are asked to e-mail her with what they will be bringing. It will start at 4:00 pm. at Lake Lowndes with possibly a short run beforehand. The club will supply hamburgers and hotdogs and everyone is encouraged to come out and enjoy the picnic, which will be our July meeting.

The June meeting adjourned at approximately 7:30 p.m.
