Golden Triangle Running & Cycling Club Minutes for February 2010
The February meeting was held at 6:30 p.m., Feb 2, at Tampico Bay, Columbus, MS. Present: Peter and Jennifer
Rabideau, Ralph and Carole Stewart, Tom Kennedy, Johnny Peters, Ann Mellott, Judy Coleman, Mark Williams and
Betty Gill.
Discussion:
1. Peter Rabideau, president, opened the meetings and welcomed Mark Williams from Caledonia. Members
introduced themselves and Mark discussed the 5K run to be held at the annual Caledonia Day in October each year.
The club is happy to support local runs and the possibility of providing assistance and equipment was discussed.
Jennifer Rabideau , Grand Prix chairman, explained the fees for renting the equipment.
2. The 2010 Grand Prix calendar was discussed. Market Street 5K and the Gum Tree 10K are the same day this year
(May 8), and Market Street will stay on the Grand Prix calendar. It was decided to add the Coca Cola 10K in Pontotoc
on May 1 to replace the Gum Tree. The Elvis 5K run in Memphis was also mentioned and Jennifer will get more
information on that run. The Columbus Pilgrimage 10K is April 10.
3. Peter reminded everyone to renew their membership if they haven’t already done so.
4. A health fair is being held at MUW on Feb 24 and Judy Coleman, Ann Mellott, and Carole Stewart volunteered to set
up a GTRCC booth at the event.
5. The meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m. and the next meeting will be Tuesday, March 2 at 6:30 p.m. at Tampico Bay in
Columbus.
