Golden Triangle Running & Cycling Club Minutes - Aug 2009

Discussion:
1. The meeting was held at 6:30 p.m., Aug 4, at La Terraza in Starkville. President, Dave Peebles,
opened the meeting. We had a great turnout with 19 present including new members and several
visitors. Everyone introduced themselves and welcomed the visitors.
2. Dave and OK Bryant discussed recent events, including a 4-day bike ride in Ohio and the long bike
ride on the Silver Comet Trail in Georgia; also the Miss. State Games and the Mississippi Senior
Olympics. Members were encouraged to participate in these fun events.
3. Judy Coleman reported on the upcoming Duathalon at Lake Lowndes and encouraged members to
sign up for the race or to volunteer to help out if you can. She handed out maps of the race course.
4. Dave announced that Columbus Arts Council is having a fund raiser on the Riverwalk on Oct 10.
The Prairie Arts 5K in West Point is Sept 5 and volunteers are needed.
5. The Vardaman Sweet Potato 5K will replace the Johnny Cash 5K on the Grand Prix schedule.
6. Cyrena Shows has agreed to take over the GTRCC website and Ronda Jackson will be doing the
newsletter. Don Zant reported that the GTRCC link is now on Facebook.
7. The meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
