Golden Triangle Running & Cycling Club Minutes

April 2008

The April meeting was held at 6:30 p.m., April 1, 2008, at Harvey’s in Columbus.

Present: Dave Peebles, Tom Kennedy, M.P. Biddy, Carole and Ralph Stewart, Bob Coggins, Peter Rabideau, Lisa Landrum, Allison and Adam Flaherty, Betty Gill

Discussion:

1. President, Dave Peebles, handed out the club brochures and members wrote in the club website which had been omitted. He reported that the Pilgrimage 10K went well and we earned about $850 for the club.

2. Tom Kennedy gave the treasurer’s report of the income and expenses for the month.

3. Dave turned the meeting over to Lisa Landrum to discuss the long bike ride for this year. Lisa said the plan is to ride on the Natchez Trace from Rocky Springs to Natchez on Saturday, stopping along the way for a picnic lunch, then spend the night in Natchez and return to Rocky Springs the next day. May is a busy month and the best open date is May 24-25, which is also Memorial Day weekend. It was suggested we consider having it in the fall when it would be less busy and cooler. The group was in agreement and Lisa will check on dates in October for the long ride.

4. Dave reminded members of the group ride/run on Saturday, April 5.

5. We may have guest speaker for the next meeting, which will be May 6 at Little Dooey’s in Starkville. The meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
