Golden Triangle Running & Cycling Club Minutes for April 2010
The March meeting was held at 6:30 p.m., April 6, 2010 at The Grill in Starkville, MS.
Present: Peter and Jennifer Rabideau, O.K. and Tallulah Bryant, Tom Kennedy, Judy Coleman, Dave Peebles, Marie Portera, Ronda
Jackson and Betty Gill.
1. President Peter Rabideau, opened the meeting and welcomed everyone. Jennifer reported that she had renewed the club’s liability
insurance from Road Runners Club of America. Peter asked that members start thinking about new officers for next year. Someone will
be needed to fill the offices of president and treasurer. Any suggestions are welcome.
2. Peter discussed contacting Boardtown Bikes about working together to promote the club and cycling. The Duathlon was also
discussed. Lake Lowndes won’t be directing the race and Peter said that Dr. Dave Breaux has agreed to be race director but will need
assistance since this will be his first race to direct. It is anticipated that a percentage of the race proceeds will go to Lake Lowndes and
Jennifer or the race director will find out.
Upcoming grand prix races were discussed. The Pilgrimage 10K is Saturday, April 10 and the Old Cotton Mill 5K is April 17. The Coca
Cola 10K is May 1 in Corinth and Market Street 5K is May 8. We’re waiting on more information about the Caledonia Day 5K. Lisa
Landrum and Mark Crigler will be contacted about the bike rides usually held in the spring and/or fall.
The next meeting will be May 4 at 6:30 p.m. Location is tentatively Tampico Bay in Columbus and Jill Williams, yoga instructor, will have
the program. Members will be notified if there is a change in location.
